Women in book club

Gloria Coles Flint Public Library supports several book clubs by purchasing multiple copies for the collection, having scheduled book discussions, extending the check-out period to one month without having to be renewed, and by providing a welcoming, comfortable space in which to meet. New members are always welcome; join us!

Fiction Only Book Club (FOBC)

The FOBC meets the third Wednesday of the month from 12PM to 1PM, September through June.

Members read interesting, thought-provoking books about different cultures, ethnicities, religions, and race. Lively, engaging discussions always ensue. If there is time, we end with a discussion of which books we’ve read and would recommend. New members are always welcome. Look for FOBC meetings in the Events calendar to see what book we are reading!

Evening Readers Book Club (ERBC)

The ERBC meets the second Thursday of the month from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

Each month, a fiction or non-fiction book is read based on a quarterly theme. This book club is ideal for readers who like to read different genres and books about various topics.  Look for ERBC meetings in the Events Calendar to see which book we are reading.

Booked for Lunch Michigan (BFLM)

BFLM generally meets the 1st Thursday of the month.

Meet Michigan authors or authors who write about Michigan, many of whom are Michigan Notable Books award winners. Authors will discuss their books, writing style, answer audience questions, and sell and sign books. Look for BFLM dates in the Events calendar!

Silent Book Club

The Silent Book Club meets the 3rd Friday of the month from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

The Silent Book Club, the Library’s newest book club, is perfect for readers who want to choose which books they read without being expected to participate in a mandatory discussion. It’s an opportunity to reconnect with books by carving out a designated time to read communally in quiet camaraderie!
