It’s that time of year: crisp fall air, flannel shirts, and Halloween! It’s the perfect time to discover a new horror author. Some authors you might try reading include Paul Tremblay, a winner of the Bram Stoker Award and author of the terrifying The Cabin at the End of the World.  Fair warning: do not read this book if you are vacationing in an Up North cabin.  Stephen Graham Jones, a Blackfoot Native American author and winner of several awards, tends to write books that are experimental and unconventional. The Only Good Indians is one of his best books. Jennifer McMahon writes suspenseful novels about ghosts, serial killers, and monsters! Winter People, The Drowning Kind, and The Invited are just a few of her chill-inducing books.  Happy Halloween reading (and don’t forget to turn on the lights and lock the doors!)
