Summer Reading Programs!

“Oceans of Possibilities!” Something for everyone, pre-readers through adult. Summer reading helps children maintain or gain in their reading skills and prepare for a successful fall. There are programs daily...

Where do you read?

Do you have a favorite spot for reading? Maybe it’s your favorite easy chair, next to a table that holds a steaming cup of tea and stacks of Flint Public Library books. Perhaps it’s a colorful chaise lounge on your apartment’s balcony.

Summer Reading Challenge for Teens

Did you know that there is a Summer Reading Challenge just for Teens? If you did not, you do now!  What makes this even more fantastic is that we also have some great programs just for Teens as well. Every Wednesday during Summer Reading there will be an activity that you can get involved in.

FPL is Ready for Your Event!

If you have an event coming up this summer, consider Flint Public Library’s new meeting rooms and conference center.  We have space for up to 150 people, along with smaller breakout rooms, pre-function space, and a catering kitchen.  And don’t forget the beautiful terrace off the Community Room,

New Service: Laptop Checkout

Laptop checkout is a new service at Flint Public Library.  If you would like to use a laptop while you’re in the building, just head up to the second floor Digital Learning Center.  You can check out a laptop at our kiosk using your Library card.  Then find your favorite corner of the Library and

Our First Donor Event

Learn for Life” is an annual event designed to engage new and existing donors with the Library’s mission and services.  It was so much fun to welcome people to this beautiful building and show them how we plan to use it....

Books and Music

I’m envious of readers who can read anywhere and under any conditions such as a crowded bus or on their living room couch while their children play loud video games. While I normally read in silence, I’ve recently taken to listening to music while I read.

The Fish are Back!

Did you miss the fish during the library renovation? Check out our aquarium in the Children's Learning Center. There's comfy seating nearby and kids can get up close to the aquarium.

Our New Web Site and New Look

Welcome to our new web site, and pardon our dust as we continue to improve it over the next few weeks! With our newly renovated building, we have a new look, including our logo, colors and web site. Have fun exploring!

Grand Opening May 19-21

Welcome back to Your New Flint Public Library! Join us on May 19 from Noon to 4 for a self-guided tour of the building. Then on Friday, May 20, you can come in to check out books, use a computer, or meet with friends in the many new seating spaces.

Books, books, books - how do you choose?

How do you select your library books? Some readers like to browse the library’s shelves, hoping to discover a new book by their favorite author, or a book they haven’t yet read in a long-running series.

Welcome to the Teen space on the new FPL web site!

Welcome, teens! Explore this page to see how teens can interact with the library. Suggest an item using our form, or suggest a program or activity you'd like to see! Check back often to see new opportunities for you at FPL.
