Interesting Quote:
There are some things that I thought I couldn’t do and learned to do anyway.

The world is always looking for a new star. Someone to lead a movie, lead the team, lead the crowd, someone to be the head of the pack or the next great movement. And little did they know, on November 14, 1988 the newest star was born, a beautiful baby girl named Mary. When Mary entered into this world, she already had two brothers, Joseph, and Paul, and one sister, Emily. Later Mary became the next-to-youngest child when Anne entered into the family. Unlike many young children, she did not base her life on the Tooth Fairy, The Easter Bunny, or Santa Claus, she grew up quickly by the great influences of her siblings.

Mary is currently 14 years old. Her mind is open and racing for new information and more knowledge. Her main learning center is her school, where she is in the 8th grade. Outside of her school, she also learns at home. She can remember a little while ago, taking her brother’s freshman Spanish book. She studied it as if it were her own schoolwork, as if she had to pass the class. "My cousin, Caroline and I went around my neighborhood speaking Spanish and everyone was looking at us like we were crazy," Mary said. This is one example of her willingness to learn new things, and to go get what she wants or feels the need to explore. Mary’s mind is throbbing with creativity and curiosity about how things are and how they could be. She finds comfort in her religion of Catholic Christianity, in her family, and in learning all that she can about the world.

Her main writing influences are her feelings, her sister, and an urge to outdo just one girl in particular who shall remain anonymous. With each of these inspirations she has found a good way to portray others in her writing and also explore other points of view. In this way, Mary has also found writing to be her way out of mental blocks that she gets set into. Writing is her open window to opportunity and her door to mental and spiritual freedom.

When she isn’t writing, Mary also enjoys playing basketball and volleyball. She is a member both teams at her school. Another extracurricular activity that she is a part of is the Girl Scouts. She is a Cadette member of her local troop.

Her advice to everyone is to "try first," then form an opinion. She knows from experience. A leader in the making, she admits that "there are some things that I thought I couldn’t do and learned to do anyway."
