Ursula K. LeGuin was honored with this award for her lifetime contribution to young adult readers. LeGuin is best known for the Earthsea fantasy series, "The Left Hand of Darkness," and "The Beginning Place."

Paul R. Gagne and Melissa Reilly of Weston Woods Studio were honored for their children's video production of "Giggle, Giggle, Quak," which is based on the picture book written by Doreen Cronin and illustrated by Betsy Lewin.
