The Genesee County Literacy Coalition is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting literacy in Genesee County. Our volunteer run Coalition offers literacy training for volunteers and locates tutors for those learning to read. Our members include concerned individuals and organizations in the community. Together we work towards a more literate future.

Community Need
35 percent of Flint residents and 21 percent of Genesee County residents read at or below a level 1. That means they have trouble with simple everyday reading, writing and math activities like reading signs and counting change. (National Adult Literacy Survey)
