Wi-Fi Printing

Flint Public Library has Wi-Fi printing available for patrons using their laptops, cellphones and other mobile devices.
We only allow printing on standard letter-size paper (8.5 x 11) using the copy card printers.
If double-sided prints are made, the charge is per side.

If you want to get started right away, click HERE to install the printer software on your computer.
Otherwise read on for instructions. This software only works on Windows devices including Windows 8.1 and 10 Tablets.
All others can go to https://fplmobileprint.fpl.info and logon with your barcode and PIN
and then upload your documents from the device, or install the Pharos Mobile Print APP, free
from the APP store. Information is below.

Make sure the laptop is connected to our Public Wi-Fi network. (Password is 48502)

  1. Click HERE to open the download link on your computer.

  2. Click "Save File" button. The "VisitorPrinters" file will automatically download into your download folder.
  3. Open it, accept changes, and install.

Installation will take 3-4 minutes, and when it's done you'll be able to click the "Finish" button.
  4. You are now ready to print.

Select File > Print from any webpage or document and the Print window will come up, with options to:

-"Color Print with PrintCopy Card" (50 cents per page, in color)
-"Printing with PrintCopy Card" (10 cents per page, black & white)

Make your selection, then enter your Flint Public Library card number (or Print&Copy Card purchased from machine in Reference Room or Nonfiction) in the first box.

Enter your name in the second box. Click "Print."

A pop-up message will confirm the job has gone through to the printer and tell you the cost.

  5. Your print job will now be sent to our printing queue. You may retrieve it at the Nonfiction printers by logging in with your library card.

For Cellphones and Mobile devices, go to the App Store and download Pharos Mobile Print, a free app. This will allow you to send your jobs to the print station.

The first time the app is run, it will prompt you for the URL and port to associate with it. In our case, it will be

fplmobileprint.fpl.info, port 443. You will also be prompted for their library card and password as below.
